Food was pretty good, the temperatures of the meats were wrong which is annoying but all the flavors were great! Nice location and friendly staff. The cocktails were not great I'd stick to wine.

My wife and I have been wanting to return to the Waterman Grille, after having our daughter's wedding shower there on 3/30 this year! We had a great dinner this evening. My Wife had the salmon and I had an amazing ribeye. Our server Trish was very nice and the outdoor patio offered a nice ambiance!

My company had a group dinner at waterman grille and it was great. They were able to accommodate a group of almost 30, in less than a weeks notice! We had a prefix menu of options which made things go smoothly. We had the loft (2nd floor) area to just us; they gave us 2 waitstaff to just us. They made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great with only a couple of hiccups (i asked for no apples on my salad since im allergic but they mixed it up; they brought a new salad in couple minutes); understandable with a big group. I chose a salad, the steak dish and chocolate moose. Everyone thought location was great; beautiful view and plenty of parking in the lot.

Firstly, I want to point out what an excellent server Taylor is. I see her rising up through the company is she really is phenomenal. The food was excellent as always. I could eat the hanger steak every week there as it's cooked to perfection. Everybody loved their dishes. Where you lost a star 1. Bartender ruined two drinks- a Cosmo & a Lemondrop by making them both sour. In fact, Taylor had to walk her how to follow the recipe. 2. My friend requested a water view on the deck through the reservation system. What we got was the not so great loft facing a coated glass door. Listen, if you're overbooked, call & say, "We can't accommodate it." We would have went elsewhere for a water view. The Newport Restaurant group management is slipping.

This was truly a pleasure. Casual vibe with tvs at the bar. Dining areas with views of the Seekonk river. Seating outside on a porch. Really well appointed and decorated. Prices are reasonably competitive. Food was off the charts good. I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and wife had a hanger steak frites. She said it was the tenderest steak she has had in a very long time. And the service was great also. Andrew took great care of us for the two hours we were there. Will definitely make a point of returning next time we are in Providence.

We've only eaten here twice so far, but every meal has been great so far, the staff is professional and pleasant, and the place overall just has a nice intimate feel to it. Not commercialized, not rushed, courteous, helpful, etc. You can really tell that they take pride in the dishes. It is NOT nearby for us (maybe 1.5 hour drive), but we were legitimately digging for an excuse to be in the area again earlier this week. Put this place high on your list if you're in the area, and get reservations.

While my husband has visited Waterman Grille a few times, it was my first. The ambiance is wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered Pt Judith calamari (which was to die for), grilled octopus and the house special ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus (split meal) All seasoned and cooked to perfection! The only thing they're missing is a raw bar I would love to see oysters and shrimp cocktail! Service was great. (This review was from last summer sometime, I just forgot to submit)

I've been coming to Waterman Grille for years and it always delivers when you want a dinner for a special occasion or a high quality date. The restaurant is much larger than it looks with a ground floor that's split between and bar/lounge area, inside dining room and extensive outdoor porch seating. There is also ample space downstairs or upstairs for private parties or events. I know there are people in my industry that have reserved rooms here for business meals and have baby showers, it's a very flexible space for a variety of events. On this particular occasion, my partner and I visited for her birthday. We were in the main dining area that was simultaneously spacious and cozy. There's plenty of warm lighting to create a very intimate atmosphere. The food itself is always a hit. This time we went for a appetizer of lamb on a bed of couscous and tangy, mint sauce. It was delicious and one of the best apps we've had there. My entree was the scallops with apple sauerkraut and sweet potato purée. The scallops were delicious, but there was way too much sauerkraut and the dish was a little too oily. The drinks are also high quality, there's an extensive wine and beer list, plenty of exciting cocktails to choose from and many aptertifs and digestifs as well. Service is also very good, our server was knowledgeable and very attentive. Can't say enough good things about Waterman Grille. This is a staple of PVD dining, and must try if you're temporarily in the area!

We came here for my wife's birthday - the third time we have done so. And once again we enjoyed it sitting by the water. We were seated on the covered and heated porch. I was hoping for a table inside but that didn't pan out. The area itself is pleasant but by the end of the evening we had (literally) cold feet. My wife tried a new cocktail which she didn't like and sent it back. The restaurant replaced it with one that she liked and did not charge for it. Our server, Allison, was good as expected. We shared a calamari (good as usual), I had the lamb shank and she the stroganoff. Since we were last here the chef has changed. I am glad to report that she retains the taste and quality of the food, although there are some different dishes, which is to be expected. To end, we shared a yummy chocolate tart and an espresso which always rounds out a fine meal.
